We humans could learn a lot from homosexual parenting in nature, namely, that abandoned eggs belong in incubators, and not in the webbed clutches of intentionally fatherless or motherless nests.* *Naturally divorced penguins not withstanding.

Akin to going into 'bad' neighborhoods and fixing them up so that straight people can then move in and feel right at home? Makes one wonder if there isn't a 'take-care-of-things' gay gene that makes up for the 'who-cares' straight behavior.
The interesting thing to me is here isn't simply why two male penguins would adopt an egg, but why an opposite sex penguin couple would abandon it in the first place.

Oh! I love babies! My mother called me up when she heard this and was so excited about it. She says it just goes to prove that being gay is natural!

My Mom will love this story. She's always been supportive of gays, and she's originally from Germany. She'll think it's really cool that this happened at a German zoo.
