Default a couple of quotes

"Sex is a part of life and the deliberate annihilation of it is not a virtue; it is a criticism of life as God made it and meant it to be." -William Barclay

"Only a sadistic God would create millions of humans as gay with no choice in the matter and no hope of changing and then deny them the right to express their gayness in a loving relationship for the rest of their lives under threat of eternal damnation." -John J. McNeill

talk amongst yourselves.

Question :) oh, let's begin....

I really love it when they talk about sex. It's not for the erotic sense of the word, but because of everything people attach to it. One of my absolute favorite things is when peopel say sex should only be for reproduction and that GLBT people should not have sex because it cannot result in reproduction...

Those silly people forget about all the heterosexual people having sex who can't have children, like:
- people with fertility problems
- people who have had "tubes tied" or other medical procedures to prevent birth
- people with physical handicaps that prevent pregnancy
- the elderly
- people on birth control or using condoms
and others....

What about them?

They clearly MUST be stoned. (and I don't mean get high) Leviticus says so. What ARE we waiting for?

celibacy?

I never thought of it this way before, but celibacy could be an insult to God.

I don't know why I wasn't paying more attention to you from the beginning... you know how to get peoples attention...... (don't worry, that's a very good thing!)

I think Mia said it though.... what about those other people? ....... I clearly haven't heard enough to post more....... people, start talking so I know what to talk about...please!!!!!!!

Default Sex and Marriage

Or course, you've probably heard the joke going around: "If you don't want gay people to have sex: let them marry!"

Default Viagra?

With the church's views on sex, what would it think of drugs like Viagra?

Talking Quote

"Give me chastity, but not yet." ~ St. Augustine

Which reminds me of a favorite joke, slightly sacreligious, the best kind:

Jesus and his disciples came upon a crowd at the gate of the city. The people had dragged a woman there who was about to be stoned to death, accused of adultery.

Suddenly, Jesus broke through the crowd, yelling, "STOP! Let the one who is without sin among you throw the first stone."

A hush fell over the crowd. After a moment a huge rock comes flying from the back of the crowd, knocks the poor woman in the head and kills her instantly.

"Oh, Mother!" Jesus exclaimed, "Sometimes you are just too much."

[from the apocryphal Gospel of Cynicus, CE 2006]
