Howdy, I'm Hannah.
Well my story is pretty crazy. But basically, once I got to school in September I was all pumped up to be a light on campus. But homesickness and lack of real spiritual support left me burned out and empty.
Luckily, I had a friend who stuck by me and told me to hold on. Eventually I made it through and I realized that this person was my soulmate. I realized I was in love with my best friend, and she loved me too.
Unfortunately, my father is not only stubborn, but a pastor, as well as my grandpa and uncle. My whole family is in the ministry and if they found out I was dating a girl, they'd cry like I was murdered.
I love God so much, and I'm really confused because I've been in relationships with guys, and Rachel is the only girl I've ever had feelings for. So now I don't know what I am or where I belong except in Christ alone and I hope I can find some support and some answers by listening to Him.

I think we should start calling them Gay Coming of Age stories.

In our middle to late teens we are vulnerable to hormones, mood swings and various teenage angst. We are financially dependent on our parents, to get us educated, and properly launched into life. This is getting easier and easier in progressive big cities, like, say, Minneapolis. Anonymity, and just not being under everyone's observation are a lot easier.

But in a one church town in the Bible Belt, or in Bozeman, you're under a microscope. You did not mention if you're school is in your parents home town. Can you think of any other options that you might have?

There is a large and growing body of evidence that our capacity for our sexual orientation is within us when we are born. In other words, God made us that way.

Agree with Partrick and Bruce Chris- you aren't alone is your story and if you hang in there you will figure things out. Yes. Please keep asking questions and looking for answers. That's perhaps the only way to see your way clear. And where is the best place to find your answers? In yourself. It's your experience, your life, and your love- not anyone else's.

You are that bright light- than shining beacon. Please don't let fear cover up that light.

And I must say, everyone has already offered some great advice. Just understand that when you have a good thing, cherish it. I don't think people ever regret being happy, especially when they are young.

And as far as telling your parents and family, well, not all things need to happen at once. I am not saying to lie or hide anything, because that starts to affect one's conscience at times, but be yourself, and if the time comes, the time comes. Don't rush anything.

We're here for you, and there are plenty of people who have gone through very similar situations, I'm sure.

Hi Hannah and welcome. The fact that you belong to God is a great starting point. The other things will get sorted out eventually. The sites that Bruce listed are a start. Try to find some folks that you have things in common with. I will be for you.
