I've been posting here for a long while- about three years I think. And I have been missing many that used to post here, but have been 'missing in action' - as it were.
Here's my question.. What happened? (I am leaving the light on)

You are here, you are queer, get used to it?
![]() Passe? Could be that. But you know what occurred to me yesterday? We don't have Bush anymore- as strange as that sounds. It is a coincidence that this site was born during his administration's 8 years in office, when it seemed (to me anyway) that we were going backwards and the 'Right' was using 'might' to achieve its aims? What I am saying is that, while the need for Soulforce is still very real, the perception of a force to push against has changed somewhat. I don't think we are out of the woods however. Call me paranoid, but there are plenty of people who want us to go to the back of the bus. There may be something else: Facebook and Twitter. If I ran the shop at SF, I would try to find some way to integrate these mediums. Another thought: my husband used to post on the NYTimes gay forum before they shut it down. It is possible that Forums now have less traffic overall? That would be interesting to know. And it's not lost on me that the reason for many not here is probably personal. Burnout? Which begs the questions: what keeps you here Keltic?

I used to contribute to a forum on a Yahoo group that in September 2005 had almost 1,500 posts during that month alone. Today that same Yahoo group does good if it has 50 posts a month. I'm not sure what happened with the others but I personally moved on to other things. Facebook and twitter sound like reasonable distractions or alternatives to posting on forums. I also noticed that this forum is a lot more active when there is a good debate going. We haven't had a good debate lately. Rick

The Holy Roman Empire was neither holy, Roman, nor an empire.

This is social networking enough for me. But then again I still do NNTP and some people don't know what that is.

In my case, closet issues - didn't want to be caught @ work, etc. & perhaps a little paranoid about being outed. Now, I'm comfortable w/ my sexual orientation, and don't care if people know it or not. Anyway, I'm finally back, & it feels great!
