Exclamation Exodus National 'Love Won Out' Conference + counter-conference, San Diego CA, March 6

There are two Christian Gay conferences being held in San Diego CA on Sat. 2010 March 6. Exodus is holding a National level "Love Won Out" conference, and a local "counter" conference is being held also.

In the latest edition of the San Diego Christian Examiner information is given on the first Love Won Out under the leadership of Exodus International.

Exodus to launch first Love Won Out in San Diego

LA MESA — Love Won Out, a national conference designed to educate and equip Christians to compassionately respond to the subject of homosexuality in a biblical way, comes to San Diego March 6 at Skyline Church. Founded by Focus on the Family in 1998, the conference will make its debut appearance under the leadership of Exodus International, which assumed operation of the ministry from Focus last year. Exodus had been a partner in previous Love Won Out conferences

Come to San Diego!
The next Love Won Out conference is scheduled for March 6, in San Diego, CA. Please call 1-800-A-FAMILY (232-6459) for more information, or sign-up online using our secure registration process. (Focus on the Family will be processing registrations for the San Diego conference)

"Love Won Out" has softened its stance on homosexuality being a choice, and upon usually being able to "cure" homosexuality; but still insists that all homosexuals are called by God to lifetime celibacy. See the Q&A page, at http://www.lovewonout.com/questions/index.html

There is also a "counter" conference being held nearby in time and locus, at St. Paul's Cathedral in San Diego on the same day, March 6.
Register for this conference at:

from which this program description is pasted:
"JUST LOVE" - A state-wide challenge to the ex-gay movement
Saturday, March 6th 8:30am - 5pm in Great Hall - FREE
All welcome to join us for an all-day conference and workshop supporting the survivors of the "ex-gay movement" - a national movement claiming to "cure" gay people through purported "reparative" therapy efforts. To help educate people about the truth of such claims, a day-long conference will be held on March 6 at St. Paul's to expose and counteract the ex-gay movement. The conference will include a press conference and workshops. Volunteers needed. For more info and to register for this FREE conference, click here or contact Rev. Canon Albert Ogle at aogle@cox.net

Credit is due to the Gay Christian Network, http://www.gaychristian.net plus Joshua and Jerod, two members of the GayChristian Network who posted on the website's "Southern California" forum. This is the source for this information, that now leads to this substantial opportunity for a SoulForce community-based action.

SoulForce members who can and wish to participate should attend either or (parts of) both, depending on individual temperament, experience in non-violence methods, live debate talent and experience, ability to register, and other factors.

These factors should include the following: The Exodus-sponsored national level conference costs $50 for pre-registration, and $60 at the door, with no refunds. Registration requires consent to be compelled to quietly leave the conference "at any time and for any cause." The other "counter" conference, by contrast, is free of admission cost, has a much simpler registration process, and no special legal disclaimers.

SoulForce members are invited to comment and make suggestions here.

I have not read anywhere in the bible where gays are to be celibate.

So gay people have to pay $110 to learn how to hate themselves? Ugh.

Anyone else want to memorize every article from Whosoever.org and relay them to the Exodus crowd?

No, no, they have to pay $60 at the most, if they register late. It's discount self-revulsion.

Hopefully the free ex-ex-gay conference can drain attendance from the Exodus crowd.
