Default To answer q's about the visit to North Central U...

To answer "themattperry" questions:

1. Did any rider intentionally trip and student of Norhht Central or other person during the action. This has been alleged by more than one person. I find it hard to believe, but I wanted to check with you, a participant in the action.

NO - there was a woman who claimed that she tripped over a Rider and hurt her ankle but she never pressed charges so she was obviously lying

2. To your knowledge, did anyone sustain injuries of any kind during the action?

YES - a security guard repeatedly banged a door rather hard into Jacob Neal, a security guard physically threw Richard Lindsay off campus, and once AGAIN a security guard pushed Angel Collie so hard into a wall that Angel's hand went through the wall when he tried to brace himself - the police were called and said they could do nothing

Sorry I'm answering so late!

Hi Kate, and thanks for addressing Matt's questions. I do think the response above needs to be revisited, however, because we don't want to make the case that not pressing charges is conclusive evidence of lying, as there are lots of things that go unreported.

We are very proud of the work the Equality Riders did on their two month journey. Do you think you can get your fellow riders to join the forums?

Thanks for the info Kate. I'm really proud of you and the other Equality Riders, and appreciate what you are doing for everyone! Keep up the great work!

Personally I never got the picture that things went down at NCU like some reported (negatively against the Riders). It's nice to have that confirmed by more than one person that was there and participated. Hope you continue to join us on the forums - it's a great place!

Yes! It was the most amazing experience of my life! I really loved it and I made so many friends. Since the Ride has ended I have moved from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma to join some other Riders (Pam, Kevin, Di & Robyn) in starting an activist house called the Soulforce Equality House - Oklahoma. I guess activism is just one of those things where once you start you can't possibly stop!

I'm from Tulsa! (but now live in Austin, TX) Where is the house going to be?

Nathan - the house is going to be in Oklahoma City but us Equality House people will be volunteering every so often at TOHR in Tulsa

Jennifer - yes! I have heard of and applied to the 2007 Ride and I suggest everyone interested in activism do the same! The Ride really is an amazing experience!

I wish I could go, it sound like an amazing experience! Hopefully this will continue to go on year to year... I have to wait several years still.

I'm so happy for you! I'll be looking forward to hearing how the 2007 ride goes!
