Hi everybody, I'm Matilda and I'm 25 years old. I came out to my close family about five months ago and no one has been in contact with me since. I haven't been invited to Thanksgiving and I'm positive I won't hear from anyone regarding Christmas as well. I guess I need some advice on how to cope with this situation even though I'm lucky to have very supportive friends !

Dear Matilda: Welcome to the forums. How sad that your family is allowing this to create such a separation. Many of us have had to face this, so know that you are not alone. We LGBTs are good at creating new kinds of family, so reach out to your friends, share with them what's going on and figure out how to build your new family. Kara
