When I think of Love songs, foremost in my mind is God, either me singing them to Him, or Him singing them to Me... and these are some of my favorites...

1) If Everyone Cared - by Nickelback

2) Fuckin' Perfect - by Pink

3) Gotta Be Somebody - Nickelback

4) Coming Home - by Diddy

5) Accidentally In Love - by Counting Crows

I owe this all to my general depressed state of mind...
I hate Valentine's Day. For the first time in 31 years, I have no one that is my Valentine and generally every stupid holiday in America is dumb.

Yes, I am very depressed, and hopeless and all that. Sorry!
For those of you with a partner, wife, husband, significant other, I hope your day is happy and reminds of the wonder of love, and may you all know that love today.

I Will Always Love You -- Whitney Houston
If I Could Turn back Time -- Cher
Because You Loved Me -- Celine Dion
Whatever It Takes -- Celine Dion
Believe -- Cher

Those are some of my favorite songs on my mp3 player.

I liked: (notice past tense)

1. All Roads Lead To You- by Steve Wariner
2. The Weekend by Steve Wariner
3. Small Town Girl by Steve Wariner
4. You Had Me at Hello by Kenny Chesney
5. Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me by Faith Hill

Now they are just dumb songs that she sang to me and didn't mean a damn thing she said.

Sorry I am such a downer, but will I ever get it right? Will someone ever love me for just me? And not some damn illusion they create about me?

I had to begin to learn to love ~Me~ for ~Me~, First, when No one else could, or would, before understanding what Love really Is.

It's not a mystical force or feeling that just "happens" to those who are "Lucky"... it's an Act of Will. You Choose to Love, Regardless of how you "feel"... Practice makes perfect, Fake it till you make it.

I treat it similarly as with other Fears. I've often, in the past, been "afraid" to do the right thing, for fear of making people angry, and hurt me, for it... but when I started Choosing to do the right thing, Regardless of the fear I "felt"... I Also started learning how to Choose to Love, to Treat others as if I "felt love", to my intellectual understanding, even when it "feels" uncomfortable (ie: doing what Jesus Said to do)

And I'm still learning =)

Stop worrying that you "might never find love"... Those are Lies taught to us, often when young, and are a form of "abuse"... "I'll never" feel better, "I can't" do it alone... when you Can!

How often have you heard the idea of "negative tapes" and to "stop listening" to them, the "voices" in your head that say you can't, or that you hurt too much, etc, etc...?

How many songs keep telling you what you need to do, for you... like the one you quote =)

How about change your tune, right now, and ~listen to~ and ~read what~ this song has to say About You:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkshHySfRD8

Because it's True. The words in that song, are the words God would sing to you, if you could hear Him, because that's how ~He~ sees you, in the perfect design and ways He made for us. God doesn't make mistakes. All you have to do, is start to believe it, and practice it, and eventually, you'll ~know~ it to be true.

Take care of Yourself, and then you can start to see how you can take care of, and love Others, also,

Peace be with you =)

~V~

I'm sorry that you're depressed, Pnggrad79. I hope that you are better today.

The theme of my entire life is summed up in What A Fool Believes by the Doobie Brothers. I am the fool who continues to believe in love, when it is all an illusion we create. I was the fool who believed her and all the damn lies she told. Like:

1. "I'll never leave you." She did 5 times.

2. "You are the love of my life". If this is how you treat the love of your life, love me a little less, please.

3. "I'm sorry, I hurt you." Bullshit! Then why do you do it so often?

I know I need to move on, but 23 years is hard to get over.

There are too many to list.

Two of a kind, workin on a full house......Garth Brooks
Where the green grass grows..... TimMcGraw
Power of Two ....... Indigo Girls
Because the Night...... Natalie Merchant

PLus there is really good instrumental that is good for well, getting close

Then, there is the subset of love song known as the breakup song. The best of those is absolutely "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac.
