Equality Ride info?

Ever since I've discovered Soulforce, I've had an interest in participating in the Equality Ride. What exactly do Equality Riders do at each college they visit? And how far do they travel on any given year, and for how long? Are non-Christians able to participate?

Lastly, what are the expenses involved for each rider? And assuming that many of your riders are college students, how do they manage to get the time away from school for the ride? I'll be a grad student this year. But I'd really be interested in joining you at the next ride if possible.
