I am celebrating the 2nd anniversary of my ordination to the UCC (US) TODAY! I would dearly love to transfer my ordination up there with yew-all. And I may very well have to...

I am trained in eldercare and hospital chaplaincy. Do posts like that exist in Canada?

I am single and love my work here but I will not stay around and wait for the cattle cars to Gitmo. As Irish Protestant ancestry, swearing loyalty to the Queen wouldn't be easy (I do not bow to crosses, I do not kneel, I do not genuflect or cross myself, but I could go with girls who do...it would be a small thing compared to having Reed as my Commander in Chief!)

I have loved the UCC Canada Statement of Faith since the first day I laid eyes on it over 10 years ago. "We are not alone, we live in God's world..." I use it in worship with aging people alot because it speaks to the loneliness and alienation so many of them feel.

Hope you are feeling better. Let me know what you think my chances of finding work would be...

I feel like I need to be de-contaminated. After much prayer and careful consideration, I cross-over voted on the Republican ticket to vote against Ralph Reed. I don't think I'll regret it. If he gets in office that new luggage I bought is gonna get some wear!

I didn't know you worked with the elderly. TJ, that's beautiful! It's an overlooked population, sadly. I think older people have a lot to teach us, in many cases.

As for crossover voting - haha! I am registered as an independent, so apparently in this state that means I can vote in the republican primary next month. (there are no democrats running for state office in my locale, so no loss.)

There's a really good article about Reed in the August GQ (I ONLY read it for the articles! )

It raises the question, did Washington corrupt him to the point that he saw his deeds as business as usual, or is he using his faith to exploit people? A lot of both, apparently.
