Thumbs down The Passion of the Cristal

Poor Mel. Well, not literally, of course. Just can't stop gnawing on that foot!

Anyone here know about his suppossed anti-semitic comments when he was arrested? Is that true?

Bad theology from an unhealthy person... and millions soaked it up.

i read the report on Fox news (was just the news link I clicked on after googling it) and was surprised to find out that mel is funding the creation of one of his churches right here in SW PA, not too far from my home.

Default (The other) Mel's Hell

He only hates Jews when he's drunk or making a movie. I guess that's a step or 2 up from Hezbollah. Wonder if there's a group for that in Hollywood?

"Hi, my name is Mel and I hate Jews when I'm drunk or making S&M snuff films about the Christ."

Hi Mel!

Lightbulb Churches?? He Needs Clinics!

How about reparative therapy for haters?

It could be called the Mel Gibson Clinic and people could drop it at parties like the Betty Ford, like, "Yeah I realized I was gettin' my hate on all the time and it was really gettin' outta control, so I checked into the Mel Gibson Clinic."

"Oh, yes, my sister went there, it is sooo nice! Her room was completely Ralph Lauren. She never uses the N word anymore, they're great!"

Emproph you are too funny! So you thought "The Passion" was a bit too gory? I have the movie and have never watched it. I don't know, something tells me why should I watch it? I know the story, I know how it ends and I know why Jesus did what he did. The crux of the matter centers around, I am not going to worship the crucifixion, I am going to worship the one who was crucified. I think Mel Gibson and people like him, worship and venerate the symbols of the crucifixion and Christianity itself, and there is no real relationship with Christ at all. When we grab hold of the religion, we let go of the relationship.

pn, when you're ready, watch it. Don't buy into the hype. It's very mediocre, violent, and should have been title, "Let's beat the crap out of Jesus". "Last Temptation" was a much better film, in my opinion.

Default Last Temptation

I have to agree that The Last Temptation of Christ was a better film. The story was more realistic and emphasized the humanity of Jesus. The cinematography and visuals were great too. In the "last temptation" or dream sequence, the scene between Jesus and Mary is similar to that of Zeus and one of his lovers from Greek mythology. Very symbolic. Likewise, in the wilderness, Satan is depicted as a woman. In Buddhism, Mara ("Desire") tempts Siddharta in the image of three women to get him off his enlightened path. I just enjoyed the similarities within the film. It was great to watch.

So the other day I got breaking news from CNN.com and KCRA.com, that Mel Gibson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and of course got probation.

My thought was, THAT IS BREAKING NEWS???? What is this world coming to - other than the end according to various reports.....
