Greetings, Emily and welcome to the SF forums!

Take. Your. Time.

Don't do anything you don't feel ready for, or convinced is right for you. These matters are SO important, and you are the ONLY person to say what is right/wrong according to your own needs/desires/values/conscience.

You are welcome here. Take your time finding out what you truly feel about yourself and any potential relationships. Trust God to lead you to what is right for you. Meanwhile, feel free to post questions here, or to jump headlong into some of our discussions.

Nice ta have ya here.

Welcome Emily! Glad to have you here!

Like Zerbie said, take your time, only you can deside what is right for you... Glad you're here and hope to get to know you a little better!

Talking Welcome to our friendly place

Emily, many welcomes. I find your situation quite thought-provoking, now that I think about it. I used to believe that the beauty of living in a large metro area lay in having access to a big city gay community, actually made up of countless LGBT mini-communities. With a little time and effort, a person could sort out, and fine tune their understanding of their sexuality, no matter what it's subtilities might be. Bearing in mind of course that one must be somewhat discrete about these things.

However, that is from a male experience. Bearing in mind that a lesbian first date may last a few years, at that rate it could easily take a few lifetimes to find Ms. Right. So take your time, keep your ears open, and make as many friends as you can. You will probably need a shouilder to cry on sometime. And of course these days there are many fine LGBT groups and organizations that are not found in the bars. (Unless they are doing missionary work!)

I like that Zerbieism, Take. Your. Time.

Peace and Love, BruceChris

Hi Emily! Welcome to Soulforce. I, too, agree with Zerbie. Take your time -- there is no rush to figure everything out right away. It took me years to be able to love and accept myself, and finally to move on to dating. You are definitely not alone in your journey.

Hope you will like it here!

Blessings...

Susan

Welcome Emily! I'm sure you'll find much food for thought here, and kind words and hearts. Good luck on your journey, thanks for sharing and looking forward to reading your posts.

And, for the record, I agree with everyone else. There is no need to rush anything. Time is on your side - just be sure to enjoy the journey in all its ups and downs.

Hello Emily: Welcome to Soulforce! Glad that you are here with us. No matter how you come to define your orientation for yourself, and how to act upon it, or not, I encourage you to listen to yourself and be patient. Your heart knows the truth. Peace be with you, and please, come back often. Vanessa
