Default Hello, Chuck Here!

I love to see people's faces when I tell them the following: I am a strong Republican and I have done a lot of volunteer work for the GOP over the years.

PUT THE TAR AND FEATHERS BACK UNTIL I AM FINISHED!

I am also a Southern Baptist.

STOP TRYING TO SNEAK UP ON ME FROM BEHIND!

I am also retired from the US Army. I served with Airborne and Special Forces units most of my career. I am also 6' 5" and 305 pounds.

REALLY WANT TO ATTEMPT TO USE THE TAR AND FEATHERS NOW?

I also do not think that the US Government has any right to be in our bedrooms. I can't think of any reason that gays and lesbians can't serve in the US Military.

Yes, the GOP and the church does not agree with me on one thing. I am sure they will get over it. Just like all can get over me being on this Board as a friend.

By the way, my log on is COMMA. COMMA was my military code name for years.

Default Welcome, Chuck!

We need our friends to join us, in as many numbers as we can call up. Good for you to have your own, clear mind in spite of some of the circles that you have been part of, and still are. Come around often, glad you are here!

Hello and welcome.

Glad you are here. I hope you will feel welcome (this is a pretty liberal group and I hope that won't be too off-putting for you.)

Thanks for joining us, and I hope you'll be back to share your perspective on things - you sound like the proverbially well-rounded individual.

I'm ex-army myself...in fact, I'm an ex-Marine-brat, ex-army and ex-Navy-wife kinda gal...I've been through the gamut. The woman I loved was in the Navy, so I've also been through the infamous "don't ask, don't tell" issue. As for your Republican persona, well, we all have work to do on ourselves
Welcome. This forum is SAFE. I have finally come out here, and I cannot describe my sense of freedom.
So, be Conservative. Be Republican. Be right-wing. Be honest.

Welcome to the SF Forums. Glad to hear that you are opposed to Don't Ask Don't Tell. You may be Republican, but as I recall, it was a Democratic president who lost his nerve over this issue during his first days in office. He went on to sign DOMA in the middle of the night. Not much to defend on that politcial score, is there?

Again. Welcome.

The water is safe. Jump in!
