Default Just dropping by

I'm the forum owner of Debating Christianity & Religion and we've had debates that mentioned soulforce on several occasions. So, I wanted to come here and check you guys out.

A little on me and my beliefs. I'm a Christian, hetereosexual, married, and a dad of 3. I believe people should "not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character". And people should not be judged by their sexual preference either.

Everyone has their own beliefs and rarely will two people agree on everything. So, people should be allowed to disagree on things, but should be able to do it in a respectful and friendly manner.

Living as an Asian in the deep south since the 70s, I have experienced occasions of discrimination and mocking over the years. So, I not unfamiliar with people judging me purely by my outward appearance. This has perhaps influenced me the most in my principle that people should be primarily judged by their actions and decisions, rather than what they had no choice in determining.

Look forward to having further civil discussions with you all.

Default Welcome, Otseng.

Glad you are checking us out. What struck me about your post is that you don't believe that people should be judged on things that they had no choice in determining- like racial category, or sexual orientation. People can disagree, it is true, and still be valued all the same. We as gay persons just want to have others see how valuable we are to ourselves and to others. Have a peaceful day, Vanessa

Thumbs up Welcome, Otseng

Welcome to our website. I've been checking out yours, too, and I think I like it. It seems a little more civilized than most, but with plenty of spirited discussion, albeit with far too many people still coming from mutually rejecting points of view.

Peace and Love, BruceChris

Hiya Otseng.

Welcome.

You're so right. People aren't going to agree on everything. Even those very like-minded won't agree on *everything.*

It becomes important then to let people walk their own paths.

Welcome otseng! I haven't looked a lot at your site, but it sounds like you've got a great group... and that fact that you said that no two people will never agree on *everything*... I think that will gain a lot of respect in a place like this. Glad you came to check us out! Welcome!
