Smile In the new house....

Scott and I spent our first night in the new house last night. We don't have everything moved yet, and I'm keeping my computer at the apt. for a few more days because it will take 2 weeks to have the cable and internet transferred to the new place. Don't worry though, I'll have access to the internet at work, which starts tomorrow (students come on monday.)

So, I worked on moving stuff all day yesterday; Scott came home from work and joined in. We were beat last night, and hot, and dirty. He invited me into the shower with him (this one is actually big enough for both of us!) but we soon discovered that the "hot" water isn't exactly hot! We ended up laughing and rushing to get clean and rinsed off then stood there in the bathroom freezing while trying to get dried off. All that was topped off by a very sound night of sleeping.

Ahhhh, what an adventure!!!!!

Very pleased to hear you slept soundly for your first night in your new home. That's a very positive sign.

Sorry 'bout the hot water - is the hot water heater covered by warranty or anything? We got something, I forget what we called it whether it was a homeowner warranty or what, when we bought our house, that said if any major appliance goes bust in the first 12 months, it gets replaced for free. And sure 'nough, our hot water heater went out, so we got a new one for free.

Your first night in your new home sounds just delightful. Showers for two are the bestest of the best, aren't they? You will always remember that first night!

Our first morning was memorable b/c it was Christmas Eve, and I went out early, bought a 9 foot tree and a tree stand and big red bows, dragged it all inside, and set it up in the (still empty) living room while my husband slept. When he woke up, there was a Christmas tree covered in red bows all set up as a surprise present from me. As you can see, we still like telling that story!

i thought maybe we had run out of hot water because I had been running the dishwasher. I checked the water heater this afternoon, and discovered that the pilot light was out (it's gas) so I re-lit it and turned it on, and I had a nice hot shower this evening!

So now you'll have hot water Keltic, but also you'll always have the fun if somewhat 'schocking' experience of a cold shower with your sweetie!

What fun - I'm so happy AND excited for you! There is nothing like the first night in a new home. Go Keltic & Scott!!!

Oh, and funny, it's often the smallest and easy to fix reason for something that seems like a major problem! (Like at work, the IT people ALWAYS ask if the equipment is plugged in before trying to troubleshoot - and ya know, sometimes it isn't!!!)

I'm so happy for you Keltic! Sounds like a memorable first night in the house... and it's true the cold water might not of been enjoyable... but you'll never forget that! Have fun moving in and all!

Zerbie, you're story was really sweet too! That's really rare that people move in the winter... but I'm sure that's another one that you'll never forget!

Love you all! I'm so happy for you two! (((hugs)))

Default Aww...

Cute stories! Keltic, I'm sure the shower will stay in your mind even longer because it was cold. Something to smile about on a rainy day...
