At 69, I'm here to tell you that you're never too old to be an activist. We may be too old to join the actual Equality Ride (as staff member, I was blessed to spend a week with these courageous students - but that's another story), but we can join them when they're at schools near us.
And more importantly there are all sorts of opportunities for activism just about anywhere we live. The question really is "am I too invested in the system," to take on something that might risk arrest? kara |

That is truly inspiring. I went to a Christian college, and the idea that anyone would try what the Equality Riders did makes me cry. If they had come to my college when I was trying hard to be the straight woman I was sure God wanted me to be... my life might be different than it is.
