Default Don't Ask, Don't Tell In National Guard

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not a state legislature has the ability to rescind the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in their state National Guard, or does national law overrule any state law when it comes to state National Guards.

Although I'm sure you all have your opinion about what's right, I'm looking for anyone who actually knows for sure. I'm interested in working with one of my state level politicians on a bill.

I think you will find what you are looking for with these fine folks. That said, I believe the current law dealing with this issue is Federal, not State or Local, thus, it would have to be changed at the Federal level. It was inacted by Congress after all.
