Hello Marlo. Welcome. Best of luck to you as you learn to understand your own orientation - take your time, be gentle with yourself.
Wish you the best.

There is a LOT of interesting, and I hope useful information to be found in the posts here. It will probably take some digging to find it. Good Luck!

Hi Marlo and welcome to Soulforce. I haven't seen the film Fish Can't Fly yet, but it looks good. I definitely like the title.
When I worked for Lexmark (a printer manufacturer) they had just opened a new facility in Cebu. Several of the newly hired engineers from the Philippines came here to work for six months first. I worked with an engineer name Felipe, who was Catholic. One day he asked if I was married and I told him that I was gay and did not have a partner. Not sure if I had caught him offguard, I jokingly followed up by saying, "You have gay people in the Philippines, right?" He said yes but the only ones he knew were the very flamboyant ones.

Marlo, welcome to you! So glad you found the forums, hope you enjoy it. You will find many friends. Looking forward to sharing with you!
My girl (partner) is a Filipina. I'm pretty much a part of her family - the food is good (well mostly it is)!!

Marlo,
A good book to help you may be "The Church and the Homosexual" written by John McNeill whom I believe is a former catholic Jesuit priest. Best wishes, shadeseraph Quote:

Welcome to Soulforce! We really have a knack for talking with persons who have questions about any part of dealing with orientation, and how that is impacted by our chosen religion, or how we were raised. Many of us have had similar experiences that seem to help out one another. I hope that you will come around often and use us as a resource as you need. Peace be with you- Vanessa

Welcome, Marlo.
I'm an American living in Canada...so I'm not sure if I count as an "international" Soulforcer. But I am glad to meet you.
