My name is Ken. I'm from upstate New York.
I am not: A Christian A Jew A Muslim A Gnostic An Agnostic An Atheist A Bhuddist A Unitarian A Scientologist Or any of the dozens of organized religions and concepts that can be identified. I am simply a person, a gay person. A person who believes that there is a spiritual guidance that no single being can lay claim to or exploit for his or her own purpose. I came to Soulforce because of the many things it is. I believe many of you came here for those reasons too. We don't have enemies only the disenlightened who are fed lies and misinterpretations. I think we can only educate those who are willing to see beyond the constraints they bear and can't change the world in one night but must work daily and diligently to do so. If we think about it, those forces that oppose equality in America have been building their front since the mid 1970s. They are well-funded and use the public relations machine to its fullest extent. This is a well thought out process with a laid out plan, goals and objectives. Should we fight? Yes, but not in the sense of utter and hostile resistance. They have shown us the weapons of change and what better arsenal to use than the one that has proven effective? Most importantly, I think the most effective tool or weapon in educating those who would hate us for living is simply that - living. Being ourselves, living our lives and talking to each person who dares to ask why we strive to be equal in all aspects of our lives. Thanks for listening. Ken

Welcome. We are agreed here: there is nothing more subtle or life changing than holding your guy's/gal's hand in the movie theatre, on the street, or simply starting a conversation with the words "my boyfriend/girlfriend." Even a trickle of water can change a hard rock in time.
