There are many so-called “Christians” that express their negative opinions about homosexual people. We never hear an opposing view to these biased, bigoted people who call themselves “Christians.” We need to hear the voices of real Christians, who are gay, to counter these people’s views. The Lord Jesus Christ spoke strongly against the religious leaders of His day. The message that He spoke then, I believe, is the message that He is speaking today to the likes of many so-called “Christians.” Those so-called “Christian leaders” that Jesus is speaking to are: Pat Roberson, Jerry Falwell, Tony Perkins, James Dobson and the conservative so-called “Christian” right.

People like Pat Roberson, Jerry Falwell, Tony Perkins, and James Dobson are lying. They are not speaking the Truth of Jesus Christ. I want to share with you the Truth. Jesus opposed and is opposing the likes of Pat Roberson, Jerry Falwell, Tony Perkins, and James Dobson.

Here are some scriptures from the Bible. The Lord Jesus Christ is speaking in these scriptures. This is Jesus' message to Pat Roberson, Jerry Falwell, Tony Perkins, James Dobson and anyone that is like them.

“You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and wickedness! Fools! Didn’t God make the inside as well as the outside? So clean the inside by giving gifts to the poor, and you will be clean all over. What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things. What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you love to sit in the seats of honor in the synagogues and receive respectful greetings as you walk in the marketplaces. Yes, what sorrow awaits you! For you are like hidden graves in a field. People walk over them without knowing the corruption they are stepping on.”

I agree that the "right" of today is equivalent to the pharisees of Jesus' day. The strongest opposition to fair treatment of gays comes from religious people who mis-understand and mis-inform others what the Bible says. I firmly believe that the Bible does not denounce homosexuality any more than it does heterosexuality. If everyone would just understand this, the majority of our opposition would be eliminated. I have no idea how to make this happen and fear that it never will.

How can we expect to have marriage equality in states where we can still be fired, evicted, and otherwise legally discriminated against just for being gay? I think anti-discrimination laws should come before, or at least in conjunction with, marriage equality.
