A VERY wise friend told me, Either Vote or SHUT UP.
If you don't like the way things are going, you have the right to change it, through voting. If when you don't vote, that says you are fine with the things are. Many complain, but do nothing. So in order to get your comlaining rights you must vote, so even if the canidate you voted for does'nt get elected, you can always say you voted for the other guy when the canidate that has been elected screws up. I voted for Kerry, he may be a stick in the mud, but at least he was better that Bush.

If anyone has sent in an absentee ballot or otherwise voted early already, check "yes." That's what I did. Sorry about the sloppy poll-writing.

Agreed.
That's also why I started this thread - I was curious to see how many Soulforcers (Soulforcees? We need a nickname) will be voting.

Voted early - took days and days to research all 19 of Arizona's ballot propositions.
Yes forumites - PLEASE VOTE!!! Last call if you or someone you know is a registered voter in Arizona - contact that person TODAY and ask them to vote NO on Prop 107! Good idea, Lydia.

Yes, for what it's worth, I'll be voting.
My partner and I watched the documentary "Hacking Democracy" this weekend. Seeing as how Georgia uses the Diebold voting machines, I'm not sure what good my vote will do. The machines are very suspect, and though I've heard it for years, this documentary clinched it for me -- our voting system is very corrupt, and we cannot be certain our votes will "count" at all. But, still, I cling to a naive hope that it will somehow make a difference, so I'll vote despite my reservations. I'd like to go to the polling place and insist on a paper copy of my vote. Which, of course, they will be unable to provide. Check out the documentary, if you can. Cathy Cox (our Sec. of State, who was running for governor at the time) showed up at my firm's Christmas party this year, and my partner asked her about the Diebold machines. Ms. Cox could hardly run away from our table fast enough. Oy. <stepping off my soapbox> Susan

I get to cast a very important vote tomorrow. Rick Santorum is being challenged by Bob Casey here in PA. A recent Advocate article indicated that Bob Casey isn't exactly lgbt-friendly. But then again, he isn't Rick Santorum, so I will be voting for Bob Casey.

I already voted via absentee today, afraid I might forget tomorrow.
I know that it isn't part of this poll, but I like Zerbie's nick name, Forumites.

How about if us guys get to be the Forum-ites, so you and the women could then be the Forum-ettes? - Awesome Idea!

I'm with you Kara, I'm choosing wishy washy. Arnold's toyed long enough with us.
Voting absentee tonight, turning it in tomorrow on my way to L.A.

I am voting both ways, and am a non-partisan.
I'm voting for Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) for Governor and Diane Feinstein (D) for Senate Angelides is one of the most corrupt politicians in the state and does not deserve my vote. I will not vote for him. Schwarzenegger is a trustworthy bipartisan. Phil is nothing more then a mudslinger, and he HAS NO PLANS for California. I can't believe the environmentalists who have endorsed him. Hypocrisy in its finest. Angelides has been cited for environmental violations while he was a developer. And voting for lesser candidates... Tom McClintock (R) for Lt. Governor, Debra Bowen (D) for Secretary of State, Tony Strickland (R) for State Controller, Jerry Brown for Attorney General (D) As I'm a libertarian, I'm voting NO on all state propositions.

I was being a total male chauvinist oinker when I suggested "Forum-ettes". So I suppose now yer just gonna pass it of, and say that yer saving ALL of yer moral outrage for the homophobes and Bushies. O.K., can't blame ya.

Wouldn't miss it! My voting card is waiting for me on my desk. We still have old style machines- and I couldn't be more happy about that with the growing concern about voter fraud. I actually think we should all put rocks in a pile- at least we'd be able to SEE the difference with our own eyes.
My state (NY) is electing a new governor. Eliot Spitzer, who has gone on record as being for gay rights and has promised to introduce legistlation regarding gay marriage, is slated to win big. What's not to like about that? Of course, Hillary Clinton is up for re-election as well. She'll get my vote, though I am not a fan. She seems to go where the wind blows on various issues. Remember DOMA?
