Hello,
On behalf of myself and my co-organizers, let me introduce ourselves. We are a group of people from Fort Collins, CO who came up with an idea to organize a statewide protest in response the the recent denial of gay rights in Colorado after the election. We have been working with universities, political organizations, and groups across the state to help form a large protest at the capital building in Denver, CO. We currently have many supporters and the list grows by the hour, however we are looking for all the help we can get in order to make this demonstration something that people notice. Please email us back with any suggestions or support, hopefully we can join with your organization as well. Several of us know your organization from the rally at Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs where we were in attendance, and maybe we can make this something big as well! Our tenative date for this is December 7th, 2006! Thank you so much, Protest 2006 Our email is protest_2006@hotmail.com |

How about protesting at Ted Haggard's New Life Church instead? It's almost literally across the street from Focus on the Family, and methinks you'd get a whole lot more attention. You ought to be able to come up with something to say there.

Hi Willy,
In response to your question, right now we are trying to focus on giving hope back to Colorodoans who feel as though all hope is gone after the recent election. This has been our main goal since we came up with the idea, Unity and Equality through Visibility, and thats how we are structuring it. However, you never know whats next to come out of us. Colorado Youth for Fairness and Equality has just been formed, look for more actions, protests, rallies, and such in the near future. But for now, please help us in our current endevor at the State Capitol on December 2nd. Thanks so much, Colorado Youth for Fairness and Equality |

Well, I live in Seattle so I won't be there. I salute you for going out to wherever you go. My post was meant to stimulate some thought, that's all. Seems to me that Haggard's story is far from over. He really hasn't admitted anything; he's only implied that he's been doing the horizontal mambo with another male, and has referred to his homosexual yearnings as dark and repulsive.
I think the New Life Church crowd still needs all kinds of education, some of which ought to be delivered directly.

At this point I don't really have any ideas for you, sorry. I have been very out of the loop on everything. But I do wish you a lot of luck with everything, and believe me I would be there if I could.
Good Luck!
