Question Lack of a Soulforce Group in New England Reason?

Hey all,

As I stated in my welcome post, I am from New Hampshire, which is up in New England. I was looking at groups and was surprised to see that there was no Soulforce group in New England, including MA, VT, ME, NH, CT, and RI. I was curious as to why this was. Have efforts been made to form a group in the area and failed? Or has there not been enough interest? I imagine that there are a lot of gay Christians in New England who could use a resource like this. I remember a friend I had in college, and he was a gay Christian. He gave up after awhile, severing ties with his gay friends and is now living a "straight" life. I often think that if he had known that a group like Soulforce existed, it might have helped him through it. So I was just wondering is all. Thoughts?

Sincerely
Nick

Default gay resouces

perhaps you could expand your search?

Soulforce is not exclusively Gay Christian

Ghandi who's picture symbolizes this web page was not a christian I'm pretty sure.----Correct me please if I am mistaken.

How about Gay Pagan? (yours truly) or Hindu? There is a large Buddist following in that region complete with remote temples on mountain tops in Northern Mass where I used to live.

If I can embrace the message of universal love which I consider to be the genius of Christ, But still see him as a human and not a diety, then resouces other than christianity may be valuable to you also.

Scotty

Soulforce is going through some changes around local groups. They've been very hard to maintain. Here in the San Francisco Bay area, we had a group for a short while and just couldn't maintain it. New York has one of the most active local groups in the country.

The emphasis is going to change from local groups to local organizers as opposed to groups. But that shouldn't stop anyone from creating their own elist group and share Soulforce and other gay and peace activist information. It always starts with one person committed to an idea.
