What Would Jesus Do?

I imagine most all of you know or have somthing with the initials WWJD (What Would Jesus do)? That is a great is a great question. If Jesus came back now, what would He do? I think he would have anger toward the fundamentalist religious right for denying our freedom and integrity. Not to mention them judging us. Jesus says put the log out of your own eye before you pull the speck out on others. I think he would be sad of how we are being treated along with other minorities and how they are treated. I do believe He will show compassion to those who believe in Him and yet get treated harshly. I believe He will show His wrath to those who have judge us and mistreat us and other minorities. He is the ultimate judge. I think there are going to be some shocked folks when they see us in heaven.

Remember after the flood God created the Rainbow. God loves diversity!

I think your point is right on target. When looking through the Gospels, one sees that it is recorded that Jesus only really "lays down the law" for one group, the pharisees; the conservative, legalistic, Biblical scholars of the day. He accuses them of adding to the Word of God and putting burdens on people that were to hard to bear. They turned their own ideas into religious laws and ignored the sum of God's law ... love God, love each other. (Hmm... Let me think. Who would fit that description today?)

Change in people comes as the Holy Spirit works from within; it cannot be imposed from the outside.

Why do so many "Christians" try to beat their beliefs into others? I think it is make them feel superior and more holy. That way no one can accuse them of being "soft" on sin. Got to keep up appearances.

I think in that is the answer to your question. What would Jesus do today? He would be in our restaurants, eating, talking, enjoying our company, and being a joy to be around. And maybe, by doing so, would help these younglings find a better source of income, love, and meaning for their lives without judging them for their choices.

Whether Nazareth existed when Christ did would be irrelevant. The area they say that he grew up in was a Roman, Greek, and international mix of people and employments. And though he would have been middle-class, I don’t think he would suddenly mix his company with that of prostitutes, beggars, and tax-collectors just to make his ministry look good. Having passed the Devil at the Crossroads, Christ would not settle for pretense in his own behavior.

Well, that is what I think on the subject.
