Default Gay Nativity Scene on Campus

http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/12/120506nativity.htm

Quote:
(Austin, Texas) A nativity scene on the University of Texas campus is generating double-takes with Gary replacing Mary and the absence of a baby Jesus. But this is no nativity in support of same-sex couples. Far from it.
The manger scene was put up by the Young Conservatives of Texas. They've dubbed it an "ACLU nativity scene" that includes positions taken by the American Civil Liberties Union with which the campus group disapproves.
Zerbie's comments in another thread, that mentioned the ACLU, reminded me of this news article. The ACLU supports the rights of the Young Conservatives of Texas to place such a display in view, even if it is inaccurate.

I think it's also important to note that the display is not a reaction to any particular event or percieved persecution on the part of the Young Conservatives; this appears to be something that is unprovoked.

Very true, Steve.

Gotta love the ACLU. Apaparently, they have a sense of humor. From the article/link:
