Wink Those who need support

I am writing this thread for those who families have turn their backs to them because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. My parents still say they love me but cannot accept me as a lesbian. now i know that others their parents cut them off comepletly. i tried to get my parents to go to a PFLAG meeting, but they would not.
my main support system is of course, SF but also my church which is gay-affirming. you can find us on the web www.forgivingheartchurch.org i love worshipping with my gay sisters and brothers in Christ. i also have an aunt who accepts me for who i am.
my parents are not even going to the Christmas cantata that i play a sheherd boy. i also am singing We Three Kings are Oriented Are. i hope one day they will fully accept me. So if you are having the same dilema send me your response or if you go any suggestions.

God Bless,
Christy

Hi Christy! I went to your church's link, and it looks like a wonderful place!

Another good site you might want to suggest for your family to visit, besides PFLAG, is www.familyacceptance.org. I met Patti Ellis at the Soulforce protest in Woodstock in November, and she's an amazing lady. Check out her site, if you have time. It may be something that your parents might find some value in -- I don't know.

Blessings to you!

Susan
