Did any of you see the movie on A&E on Wedding Wars or Marriage Wars. I forgot which was the name of it. I thought it was good. I can't imagine everyone going on strike for marriage equality. I hope in my life time we can marry and get benefits like heterosexuals take for granted. I don't know about you but i am tired of being treated like a 2nd class citizen.
Peace, Christy

Chris and I watched it. The message was very good and the movie was pretty entertaining. The acting and plot was a little Disneyesque, but not bad. Somebody once told me that nobody likes a long-faced movement, and this portrayal certainly wasn't that.
For those who missed it, Wedding Wars airs again on A&E this Saturday, 10pm Eastern. |

My wife and I watched it and I thought it would be an excellent idea to go on strike. Can you imagine the impact it would have if every GLBT person and/or sympathizer went on strike for equality? It was a good movie, but I was disappointed in the ending. It was like he just gave up without pushing further. I thought the advice his father gave him was Ozzie and Harriet like. We can't give up the fight. We can't hope for things to change. We have to be the change we want to see.

With any movement, numbers are the name of the game. I once called the main paper in our town asking why they always tiptoed around Louis Farrakhan when quoting him or his positions. The reporter answered 'because if they quote his exact position on some controversial issue, they will get hundreds of telephone calls.
Now Gay people may not be a majority obviously, but if each of us made one telephone call a month and sent one letter a month it would be so much more than what most other groups do. Further, every knows this, so I'm not trying to be "deep" but LGBT as a movement definitely needs to work on strong ties with allies. It really doesn't matter if you are Gay, Straight, Questioning as long as the politicians can use sexual orientation and the marriage issue to divide the country. Will anyone really care about same sex marriage when they don't have social security, pensions, good schools for their children, or no health insurance? That is definitely where we are headed if all the jobs are outsourced...... |

I saw it - a positive film w/ a good message. I agree w/ Jamie on the statement of its "Disney" - like aspects, but overall, a fun movie.
