Hello: I joined after reading Rev. White's "What the Bible says..." I left organized religion years ago because I could not find any serious thought going on and as a gay man the options were 1) stay and feel guilty for life or 2) find a new path. I felt that I had seen the "man behind the curtain" and HAD to pay attention if I was going to use my God-given faculties.
I don't consider myself a Christian any longer, but am still on a spiritual journey and have kept the teachings of Jesus dear to my heart. I look forward to good conversations in these forums. |

Welcome, not-a-lemming, you're at home here.
God wouldn't have given us intelligent minds if we weren't supposed to use them. The spirituality that comes from your own growth, your own understanding, struggles, and most importantly - your questions - is authentic and powerful. The "spirituality" that comes from quoting a book without YOUR OWN ownership and deep clear understanding is nothing more than an automaton following a script. I don't consider myself Christian either - this forum has members of many persuasions. Happy to have you with us!

Hey NonLemming, I've seen some of your posts, I didn't realize you were so new, Welcome. It's a shame what some have done to the image of Christianity, and how many people aren't exposed to the meaning of it as a result. See you around
