OMG! Not the indefatigable, unflappable NATE!!!

Hon, we all have our days and our hours, if not in the dumps, then in the lower stories of our ivory towers. Of couse, we'll pray, dude. You got it! But careful what you ask for ... God has great things in store for you. I just know it.

Honestly, Nate, God loves you, and so do we. But you knew that, didn't you?

Thank you both so much. I was talking with a counselor friend and she looked me square in the eyes and said "you're only human." And I got it.

This human is going to enjoy life more and take it easier on himself.

Jenn, how is your mom?

Nate

Default Charley's dad died

My husband Charley's dad died today at the young age of 97. He had been in hospice care for about a month. He died peacefully this morning while the nurse was visiting. Pray for us and Charley's family, please. We will miss him sorely.

Just realized I hadn't responded to this (sorry), she's recovered pretty much fully from the surgery.

Thanks for asking

Default I need some comfort prayers and upliftings

Hey all

On this past Sunday, Feb. 17th, my 88 year old grandma was called home to God. The shock of her death still really hasn't hit me yet. But, today, it probably will.

I actually sat next to my grandma as she passed from this life unto her next one. It was pretty dark in her room and all of a sudden a bright light shone thru the room. I knew it was the angel coming to get her because after the light disappaeared, nanny had breathed her last breath.

Today, I will start recieving family and friends at the funeral home. I just need upliftings all day as I deal with family, nanny's friends, townfolk, etc.

Nanny knew I was gay but never said anything much about it except on occation the "how's your friend doing"

So, please send peace and comfort to me, my mom (nanny's daughter) and the rest of our family today as we have the viewing and then tomorrow with the funeral.

Much love in God

Wes

Default Wes, I am holding you up in prayer and love.....

I am so sorry for your loss. You have my thoughts as you and your family go through your formal grieving process. Be gentle with yourself and wrap yourself in your memories.

Wes,

My family has just experienced the loss of my 97-year-old father-in-law. I have learned that no matter how old they were or how well prepared you think you are, you're not. I'll be praying for you and your family. Remember, that as hard as receiving visitors can be at a time like this, they're there to honor the memory of your grandmother.

My mom and sister have been really sick. My mom is also very stressed at her job and trying to start her own cleaning business... so she really needs to be doing a lot better. There's only so much I can do to help! I wish I could do more!

I have this friend... we weren't ever all that close, now we rarely talk... but I just he's in a much of trouble at school and says he's on probation... I don't know what's going on, but I just really hope that he learns his lesson from whatever happened... and that he'll talk to me if he does need anyone to talk to. I care what happens to him and I wish we could've continued to be better friends then we are.

Jenn: I will say a prayer for your friend throughout his struggles, but also pray that you two find your way back to one another, possibly when you both could use good friends.

Default buyout offer

After 39 years with the same company, in several different capacities, I, along with lots of other people, have been offered a voluntary severance package ... a buyout, if you will. I have an accoutant looking it at now. The harder prospect is doing a life plan for retirement. Would you guys please watch my back on this one, spiritually, so to speak?

We've got 2 issues at school this morning:

the mother of one of our 6th grade girls was found dead this morning.

one of our kindergarten girls came in and reported that she had been sexually abused all weekend. I was in the room when she said what had happened. Of course, we are mandatory reporters.....

tough start to the school day.

Default O my gosh.....

what a terrible set of circumstances for both of those families, and your school community. I will keep all, including you, in my thoughts and prayers.
