Question What you ever felt this way?

Have you ever met someone, or not ever even met them and you feel like you know them, you understand them... it's like they've always been there for you...???

Default Yes, I have met someone like that

Jen,
My wife is like that. I met her 18 years ago, and it was like we were friends already. 18 years later, we are friends, lovers, spouses and mothers of two daughters.

Yes, with my current boyfriend. He means everything to me, which is why I don't want to lose him. We just connect on so many levels.

With many types of people. My husband, some past loves, a couple of teachers, and many friends.

I have an online friend who lives thousands of miles from me. He's a bit older, not much. We met on a message board for health and fitness. We are exactly the same height, weight (depending on how we're doing with lifting and nutrition) we will begin similar training programs without discussing it with each other. we hold similar political views. we are both bald. we both have Irish ancestors. He's straight, I'm gay. We have met face to face once and it was like we had been friends forever. I wish we didn't live so far apart.

Default This forum

This forum has some of the kindest, most open and heart-centered online personalities I've "met" to date. It's impressive. More than I had hoped for, actually. Helps me immensely, y'all have NO idea.

I feel the same way. I think you can feel over-all a lot safer when you know you always have some one here. you're never alone....

Default I will agree all the way....

I have probably said this on every thread that I have been on today, but it is a feeling on connection, togetherness, understanding- it creates a feeling of peace and understanding, and I don't feel quite so alone in my views these days. I have great compatability and connection with my partner and our daughter, but this brings friends into my life. Thanks to all of you.

Default My heart breaks

Several of you have mentioned that this site helps you feel less alone in your views about the anti-gay climate, and in spirituality, or stuff like it. . . .For me, never being part of a church, this adds to my life friends who think first of serving God, no matter how dire the situation. But I wonder if many of you reading this are more alone than I am in terms of having 3D friends who support the LGBT community. I spend all day surrounded by supportive people, many of them openly LGBT, and they cheer me on in the activism. Lemme tell ya, you can get used to that!!
I've gotten used to it, and tend to take it for granted that of course the gay community has lots of support, and so reading the news is kind of like, "Huh?" It reminds me that the group hubby and I run around with is actually quite unusual. Rare, perhaps. And that is very sad.

Everyone should have loving and supportive friends. Vanessa, I'm glad you have such a wonderful family!! And for everyone here, this forum is an especially blessed community, and I'm so glad we have each other. Especially for those of you who feel alone otherwise. For my part, I learn so much from you, even trying to explain it would waste too much bandwidth. Just know, y'all rock!
