I have worked for a lot of companies in different cities and never, ever have I been in a work environment where everyone sleeps with each other.

Here's the thing and here is why I call it porn: the characters start out disliking each other but still have sex with each other. The model doctor hates the young, cocky male doctor because he is a jerk, but she has sex with him anyway. This sends the message that being a jerk to a woman will get you laid. Meredith knows that her boss is married and still has sex with him. And Dr. Dreamy - he is married and he screws someone who works under him. Its a violation of business ethics, Christian morals and basic common sense. In real life, this kind of man is a nightmare, not a dream guy. Why is he praised? The nerdy guy has a crush on the slutty hot chick and she knowing this leads him on and breaks his heart. And she is the hero of the show?

Now I am not knocking consensual adult sex, but the reason I don't like the show is because it sends the messages that sex - not love, not dialog, not compassion - should be used to connect with someone you don't otherwise care to associate with. The slut, the bitch, the jerk - all these unlikable characters are glorified for screwing one another. The show sends the message that casual sex is a higher value than any other form of human relationship. That is the story line in porn flicks.
Ok. So you don't like the show. I wasn't attacking your opinions. I was attacking your expression. If you've read elsewhere on this site, in the Faith and Nonviolence Forum, there is a thread called How Should We Dialogue. In this thread members have been discussing ways to dialogue on the forum. Your initial response, compacted by your second response, was and is rather rude. I never asked for opinions as to whether you liked the show or didn't, I asked if there were any fans so we could talk about something we had in common. It's funny that you don't think I'll take that personally.

You do make good points about how you dislike the show. I would like to remind you that it is a Soap Opera. A highly melodramatic interpretation of life meant for entertainment. The show is fictional, phantasmagorical, not a reality show. And besides, lately, many of the characters are leaving there ways for more committed lifestyles.

I would like you to apologize for your words, but that choice is up to you.

Indeed, you are 100% correct there. I'm not sure why I failed to read the original post - I guess I just skimmed it and jumped to the assumption you were asking opinions. You were not, you were in fact looking for other fans. I can understand how you would find my post insulting and I do apologize to you for that.

I do the same with movies involving horses - they would never do that! That's not how a horse would react to that! Etc. Actually, with horses every day is new so you do have to keep an open mind! Now, with birds - when you are watching a movie and see a bald eagle flying, and hear the high=pitched scream of a red-tailed hawk (bald eagles sound more like a squacker than a screamer) - you know that sound effect wasn't done by anyone who knows something about birds!

But I do want all the cool toys from the Batman movies!

Austin, I've never seen Grey's Anatomy although I know people who like it. Now if you really want to get mad at a medical professional, check out House. He'll make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, of course he always ends up being right...still does the end always justify the means???

CSI is a far cry from a real crime lab. And I love L Word, but definitely NOT typical of lesbians I know (and am)! Thank goodness! Can't help it tho, I'm hooked. That and American Idol and Survivor - there isn't any time left for Grey's....
