Default Greetings and Salutations!

Sisters and Brothers,

I'm a 28 year old gay male. I grew up in Virginia and spent eight years in Tennessee earning both a BA in Religion and Journalism and an M.Div. I'm an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ. I'm currently serving as the associate pastor of a UCC congregation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm pretty liberal in my theology and politics.

I'm looking to make new friends on here. I'm always up for a good conversation, especially over coffee or beer.

Feel free to engage me in a conversation.

Grace and Peace,

WES

Arrow "Nice quotes"

Welcome Origenal, good to have you.

I like your quote too. I was just writing a letter regarding that with the attack in New Haven with the white supremacist. Supremacy is supremacy, white or Biblical. It's the supremacist mind that takes a religion of equlity (do unto others...) and makes primary the idea of it being the ONLY way, making them not only special for being one of the "only" ones going to heaven, but also because they chose it. Choosing Biblical inerrancy is to acknowledge personal inerrancy. and just think about the practical revultion of gays many people have, couple that with a the reinforcement of a religion I can interpret as I'm right and you're wrong, and then have the command to hate what you already hate from the very thing you love the most, God, seen through egocentric eyes. It is a supremacist's dream come true, insults with impunity.

They're aftraid of death, much fear. They're terrified. I keep forgetting that. I should start a thread on that.. I've written too much already

anyway, see ya 'round
