Parents who throw out their gay children

(New York City) A new study says there are at least 3,800 people under the age of 25 living on the streets of New York and that almost 30 percent are gay, lesbian or bisexual.

The study, by the Empire State Coalition of Youth and Family Services, has been turned over to City Council, which paid for it.

Nearly half of all homeless young people were Black, about 25 percent were Latino the study said. Those numbers would be proportionate to Black and Latino populations in New York.

But the high number of gays on the streets is about three times the estimated percentage of New York's LGBT community.

This part really angers me:

The January report said that roughly one-fourth of gay and lesbian teens are kicked out of their homes after their parents learn of their sexual orientation. The report also said many gay youths experienced physical violence during the process of coming out.

How could you carry your child under your heart for 9 months and then throw them out? It is completely uncomprehendable to me how one could do that. I totally agree that it's family values for you!

Even though I am hurt my brother is being such an ass(you read my rant about him reacting to me being married)I am even more worried that my neice could turn out gay. What would he do about that? He would be one of those idiots that would probably throw out his daughter due to her "wicked ways". Thank God that I am around, yhe kid will have somewhere to go instead of the streets.

The exclusion of gay people by their families is a sin worthy of judgment, the same judgment they used to castigate and throw their own children out of the house. If the law of karma is true, I hope the families that do that, have it visited on them ten fold.
