This information might be somewhere on this sight but I wasn't able to find it, can anyone tell me where the Hate Crimes Bill is at? I know it passed the House, but what about the Senate and will it go before Bush soon?

The latest I've heard, it's being considered by the Senate. I think. . . and I'm not sure. . . it's still in front of committee (judiciary??).

Pretty much sure that it is on to the senate. In my state I'd written to my senators and they rejected it saying it would give gay people special rights.Yeah right, like what? The only people in the US who have a privileged status above all others are married straight couples. I know that may have nothing do do with crime, but it's true.

I'm a bit ticked off that my state has a big red ring around the neck when it comes to LGBT rights (I can say that I lived in Texas a total of 26 years and I'm bonafide LOL) But the reasons they gave fo rejecting the hate crimes bill are soooo lame.. Just par for the course, ala religious right style.
