I watched this yesterday. Not bad. Michael Bailey is controversial for some of his research. I myself have not thought much of some of his previous work. While his methods in this research still give me an uncomfortable twist in my gut, it's very interesting.
He always seems to be studying the "stereotype" rather than the sexuality. Sigh... He's quite popular among the Northwestern Students...at least I hear his classes are popular.

I watched the part about guessing stereotypes and was so utterly disgusted I couldn't watch the rest. (I try not to get too deep into things that are only going to make me angry when there's really not much I can do about it). Can I safely assume thet the bit on the kids utterly failed to mention "transgender" at all?

No...I don't think he mentioned transgender. He doesn't seem to go any deeper (IMO) than "gay=girly" and "lesbian=manly".
He's really quite obnoxious as a researcher, but I still can't deny that these is some (however small) value to his work.

Hmmm ... interesting. However, I'd defy them to "pick me out" on either movements or voice.
The question I'd want answered here (from my limited psychology training) is how the sample subjects were selected.

Watched the clips this morning and found the 'guess this person's sexuality' game unsettling. No wonder Bailey has a reputation. Though I wonder if his 'style' gets him research grants.
He was quoted in an article I posted on another thread... http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/10/he...1c7eea&ei=5070 ...where his rather crude style is in evidence. Quote:
