I think that the subject Robert's work addresses warrants his posts, although he should probably have provided other information besides his work in particular. As a young woman who was molested as a child and has lived with the consequences of that assault, I agree that child maltreatment is an extremely insidious, pervasive issue that needs to be addressed by all those who are concerned with justice. I'm not saying that cut and paste is the greatest method of doing so, but I don't think that it is appropriate to block Engleton because of this.

the reasons and appropriate guideline violations were cited. robert eggleton did not engage in dialogue here, instead he did large posts of his own work, making sure that the word "rarity" was in the post, so as to make sure his book was found in as many places on the web as possible. SPAM.
No one said his work or mission was misguided, only his promotional strategies for which he had already been warned.

Context.
Meghan, I went through stuff when I was little for which there are simply no words (well, maybe some evil ones) and am still paying heavily for what one insane grownup did in the late 70s/early 80s - believe me I know what's at stake with abuse issues. Robert Eggleton's posts however were many, frequent, completely centered on promotion of his book, and uninvolved in dialogue with forum members. The only post he ever made that was not exclusively a promotion of his book was a scathing attack on the personal character of all the activists here. It ended with a promotion of his book. Not only were his posts one-tracked and excessive, his interaction here was anti-social and abusive towards this community. If he was banned, he earned it, and he should probably have been banned weeks ago.

Zerbie-you may be right. I tried to find his posts before making my statement regarding him being banned, but I couldn't find them. I do think that he should have made child abuse a topic of discussion rather than promoting his book seventeen times, so I'm with you there.
