Default fagbug.COM

Saturday, at the Pride Parade in Pittsburgh, I got to meet Erin Davies, the owner of the Volkswagen Bug that was vandalized in April.

I spoke to her about soulforce, I explained that we had a thread about what happened and that we had linked from that thread to her myspace page. She had been told about us, and our similar missions. It was a great, but quick meeting. She had to get on stage a few minutes later and talk about her experience. She was selling stickers and T-Shirts to finance her trip throughout the country. She's leaving in less than 2 weeks to tour the US, in particular, parts of our country where homophobia seems to have a strong grip, and talk to people about homophobia, hate crimes, etc. (sound like anyone we know? Dotti? Roby?)

btw, Erin has a new website: www.fagbug.com

and while I was talking with Erin and her friends, I bought the T-shirt:

You can purchase stickers on the website. Please check out her tour; Erin will be crossing the country this summer, if she's near you, please take the opportunity to meet her and support her!

Wow.... I bet whoever did that to the car is really sorry right about now

Her stuff is adorable... and I'd at least encourage people to go see her when she's in town, but as far as I can tell there isn't even a single stop in this state... I guess when it comes to actual hate crimes around here, the very few that ever take place never make the news.

Jen: I have gotten a couple of emails from her, based on her website. She wants to make visits around the country, so if you send her an email from her website, she just might come to your part of the country and make a stop. Check it out, she replied to me twice, and is considering coming to our school in the fall. We need to pay her, which we should do, I just don't know if I can get the funds approved for it. But I am going to try. DONT GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, but I don't even know if I'd be able to go... this summer is getting a bit crazy.. and I only know so many others in the area that would go, so I think it might be a waste of time. It'd be neat if someone else set it up for her to come to Seattle or something, but I wouldn't have the support to make it happen.
