http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/o...of_reason.html For all the accusations that some people level at the Church (by this I'm referring to all christians) of using people for their own political ends, it is plain to see that these same people have no qualms about doing it themselvs. Both writers are avowed atheists who have a long history of accusing christians of being irrational, sad oppressors. Did they spend THEIR lives sacrificing themselves for the poor??? I think not. These articles only play into an agenda that they would like to see go full throttle: the extradition of all spirituality from American discussion. Newsweek ultimately participated in this very mission, because there was NO opposing opinion/assessment, which would of balanced it out. |

Bashing Mother Theresa is a definite no, no. The woman dedicated her life to helping people. Wayne Dyer speaks of mother Theresa in one of his books .He's not religious but he holds her in high esteem and quotes her in his book. He also quotes the prayer of St Francis of Asissi prayer as a form of meditation.

So what? Mother Teresa had doubts. She wrote about them in her letters. That just makes her human like everyone else. The author of the Newsweek article is making a big fuss about nothing IMO. He seems to think we shouldn't venerate people that have doubts. If somebody has doubts does that make them a non-believer? I don't think so. I think in the core of our being we never let go of our believe altogether.
