I just wanted to share with you my experiences this past week. I had the pleasure of collaborating with a few others friends in the social services field to put together a community workshop in Nonviolent Communication. I must confess that some of my intentions around this were selfish. I wanted the training for myself, and knew the only way I could get it was if I did something like this, so I did.
I learned that the process, developed by Marshall Rosenberg is just so easy and yet so hard all at once. It seems easy when you first learn the process, then you try to use it and go blank. Despite that It is my wish that lots of people take some time to learn about this valuable way of engaging others in a language that connects us with what is alive in each other rather than judgments and evaluations of who is good or bad, who is right or wrong, etc. I would encourage all of you to explore this further as I have found it to be useful not only in my communication with others, but the conversations I have with myself. |

I do, you can actually take a basic online course free in nonviolence communication at www.nvctraining.com. When you sign up choose the basic intro as your course. You are then not asked for a credit card.

I'd heard of Rosenberg's work, but didn't know much about it. You know, I've just discovered google books. One can get a peek at his work on nonviolent communication.
