Exclamation The Solid Foundation

I write inmates in prison to encourage them. One of the inmates that I write told me that he was dealing with various isses: financial issues, family pressures, change, loss of focus, old friends trying to pull him back into his old ways that the Lord Jesus Christ wouldn't be pleased with. I wrote him this letter to encourage him. I'm sharing it with you because it might encourage somebody out there.

---------------------------------------

Dear Friend,

I advise you to do these things to help you to stay focused on the Lord Jesus Christ.

-Pray at all times about everything. Pray to the LORD God almighty, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask for the Holy Spirit to lead you.

-Study the Gospels. The Gospels are the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible. The Gospels are about Jesus. We should walk like Jesus, talk like Jesus, act like Jesus, be like Jesus and do everything like Jesus.

-Praise the LORD! Thank the LORD for your blessings. Thank the LORD for everything. Thank the LORD for: another chance, your children, food, life, being sane, shelter, knowing Jesus (a lot of people don't know Jesus), health, strength, etc. There is a lot that you can thank the LORD for.

-Memorize scriptures. When you're faced with problems, weaknesses, loss of focus, family pressures, your past life, etc.: you need to quote scriptures out loud. Scriptures are the Word of God and they have power and they can help to focus you.

-Make friends that are Christians. They can help you to keep your focus on Jesus. They can also help you to not do things that aren't spiritually healthy for you to do.

We are really wrestling against evil spiritual forces, spiritual wickedness, demons, etc. We're really not wrestling against flesh and blood and the physical world. Being that we're wrestling against the evil spiritual world we have to use spiritual weapons to fight to keep our focus on the Lord Jesus Christ. Some of our weapons are: prayer, praise, faith, knowledge of the Bible and Jesus. Actually, God will fight the battle, we just need to pray, praise, have faith, have knowledge and have Jesus.

THE SOLID FOUNDATION. If anything is not built on a solid foundation it will fall and not be able to stand up. A house will fall if it's not built on a solid foundation. A bridge will collapse if it's structure isn't built strong and smart also key parts of a bridge have to be able to take weight and endure pounding. Palm trees can withstand the strongest, fiercest hurricanes because they are rooted and grounded in a solid foundation. ...you need to be rooted and grounded in the solid foundation and that foundation is the Lord Jesus Christ. Prayer, praise, faith, studying the Bible, knowing Jesus through the Gospels and through prayer; all work to build and strengthen your foundation in Christ. Your soul needs to be anchored in the LORD. Your soul needs to be anchored in the LORD when your family is pressuring you and trying to pull you in a direction that is opposite of the LORD. Your soul needs to be anchored in the LORD when you're having financial difficulties. Your soul needs to be anchored in the LORD when you're dealing with sickness, pain and suffering in your body. Your soul needs to be anchored in the LORD when you loss focus. Your soul needs to be anchored in the LORD when old friends are pulling you to go back to your old ways. You will not be able to stand for and with the LORD if you don't have a strong, solid, deep foundation in the LORD. You will not be able to keep your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ when troubles, pressures and temptations come if your soul isn't deeply, strongly and solidly anchored in the LORD.

You may get knocked down but get back up. You may make a mistake but get back up. In hurricanes those palm trees get pushed back-and-forth violently but they are able to stand and endure the violent storm and winds because they are rooted and grounded in a solid foundation.

...you are like those palm trees. You may get pushed back-and-forth by the violent storms and winds of life but you can stand and endure the violent storms and winds of life if your soul is deeply, strongly, and solidly grounded and rooted in the Lord Jesus Christ.
