Default Thanks for Playing

Hey Folks, I was reading through the forums. While I was checking out all the things that you reported in the "Weekend Plans" thread, I noticed something. You all are pretty "normal"

Did anyone else catch that? I mean, here we are, a bunch of gay/lesbian political activist types, along with some straight/bisexual allies, and no one has plans that look out of the ordinary for middle America.

That teaches me something, although I don't know exactly what just yet. Initially, I see it as telling us that we should talk about this to our straight friends and perhaps even at work on Monday morning. It is a real example of how our lives are similar to those of straight people. There's no harm in letting people know that. I'm sure there's something more, something deeper to be learned here too.

Thanks for playing in my weekend thread.

When I read our responses on that thread, I got to thinking all the people who think gays have "a lifestyle" they can't relate to should be required to read that thread.

Here it is folks, the lurid description of the gay/lesbian/bisexual lifestyle:

Go to work. Come home. Do laundry. Mow lawn. Pick up kid from soccer practice. Crash exhausted in front of TV.
Arrrrghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Hide your eyes!!!!!!

This militant activist spent 2.5 hours doing yardwork, then 2 loads of laundry, and the grocery shopping before cuddling with hubby to watch the luridly pornographic March of the Penguins. Eek!

Default thoughts

maybe it just supports the theory that we are truly just all human beings.....

normal people if you want to go that far (however "normal" is a difficult word!)

Default Hmmm! We are normal?

Keltic,
Amazingly we are normal! My 15 year old daughter asked if I would unlock the parental controls on MTV and I said no, and she said, "But you're a lesbian, mom, I didn't think you would mind!" I said, "Even lesbians are concerned about what their children watch on TV. OMG! Just because I am a lesbian doesn't mean that I am going to let you watch just anything. I censor what I watch, do you think I not going to censor what you watch? UH NO!" That was the end of that.

To my sister-yeah, I really am an evil influence. I censor my daughter's television shows, I don't let her stay out all night and I make sure she eats healthy, and I monitor her computer time! Evil, downright evil! I don't think you should let your children around me. Because all I do all day is rant and rave about being a lesbian! Please! I do have a life! Only a small part of it is my sexuality! Get over yourself!!!
