Default Reaching Out

I have always believed that we need to support each other. I have reached out to the bisexual community, making friends in the process. I attend a bimonthly LGBT bible study at the community center. One of our prayers is for God to draw men and women in the LGBTQI community to Him. There are a lot of hurting and empty people.

During this Easter I have been thinking about why Jesus died-so we can be set free spiritually. He died and rose for ALL people. I will never, never understand about those who call themselves Christians can hate LGBTQI people the way they do. To me, it's a mockery and a stench in God's nostrils.

Another reason that I am reaching out is that I want to know what other groups are about and how I can support them. I'm doing a study on transgenderism and transvestism in the bible. I have no doubt that there were LGBTQI men and women in the early Christian church. There is much diversity in God's church. There are from all nations, cultures, genders, sexualities, and religious persuasions.

I am reaching out and supporting folks in the other communities as I feel compeled by God to do so. Jesus reached out to everyone and so should I. If I pastored a church, there would be people of all races, genders, and sexualities.

Wow. That is so inspiring. One of the main reasons I want to go into the Episcopal Priesthood is to reach out to the LGBT+ Community. Like you said, there are so many hurting people out there, and religion has been used against them. I pray that God blesses you. Who knows? maybe our paths will meet.

Default Gennee, thank you.

Your presence here is really gentle and kind. I am so grateful for it, and grateful to you for reaching out as you do in your local community. It all makes a difference to all of us.....

You people warm my heart, it is touching to see people who want to reach out and help those who have been disenfranchised.
