That's because there is no valid point.

Those folks are threatened because their world is changing. It is the same reaction whites had 48 years ago when lunch counters were being integrated in the South. There was a huge uproar among whites because blacks wanted to do something as simple as sit down and eat at the Woolworth lunch counter.

It seems funny to us now, but I remember back in 1960 when many Southern whites thought the world was coming to an end.

Like say, early next week, before a Mexican national marries a Californian, and marriage, California style, runs headlong into the I.N.S. and the federal DOMA. But then again, many DOMA supporters claim that for them it is a matter of states rights. I wonder what kind of spin they will put on it then?
