a protest idea for Kansas City

in my oh so long years of existence and the last 6 of them i've spent blossoming into a socially progressive individual it has came to my attention that there is next to no representation of people of color in the LGBT community at community events.(at least in kansas city. which shocks teh heck out of me.) and then I was shocked as heck at the fact that when the jena six controversy was going around I also attended a protest in which there was next to no LGBT allies (there were only 4 LGBT allies to be exact) out there supporting their fellow minority communities. so this year since for me at least Day of Silence kicks off pride season. I would like to organize a protest that would take on 2 issues that are important to me inthe fact that I am gay but I am also multi-racial my mom is white daddy is african, and so would like to tie race and sexual orientation together with this protest in the fact that I was thinking we could organize a protest in the epicenter of social progressiveness in kc. (or at least thats were all the protests are held) and get people of color and who are LGBTQA individuals the chance to take a stand and protest for 2 issues that are important to them and gain awareness for them. I would like to open the protest with negro spirituals playing on speakers or if I can find a gospel choir in kc willing to come and perform some of the negro spirituals that were sang at sit ins and other forms of non violent protests. we would have them kick off the event and then I think it would be really powerful if we had those spirituals playing while were chanting the protesty chants that I love oh so much, and then to close the event we would a type of show to showcase the many talents that people of color have or have perfected such as flowetry, spoken word, blues, jazz, ragtime, etc and have a sort of forum so people of color can come and talk about what it is like to be black because that is what people notice about minority skin colored communites first and then what it is like to be a black/mexican,hispanic,latina,latino/pacific islander etc who is LGBTQA today in my community, because no one can speak the truth except for the people brave enough and speak to theirs. so please let me know what you think.
