Default Hello everyone

Hello everyone! I first heard of the equality ride from a member of my church, the UCC here in Blacksburg, VA and thought I would check it out further. My hat is off to you (and I wear a hat all the time ) for what you are doing. It means a lot to me and so many others, I am sure. I have battled with my faith, but finally have come to realize that God loves me as I am and that Christ's welcome is for me just as much as anyone else. Thanks for doing such a great job!

Default I Wear Hats Too......at One Time, A Pointed One.

Dear Peaceboy,

Welcome to the Soulforce community. The Congregational Church (UCC) figures prominently in the history of your country, and now prominently in the defence of us against those who are engaging in nefarious spiritual warfare. I say, shame on them, the Theocons and shame on us for our communal silence, and shame on me especially, for having sat in synod with them.

Christians are NOT perfect, just forgiven......is the reality that I both own and reconcile. When you stand for equality and justice, especially in a committed but peaceful way, your decibel level with them is higher pitched than any violence or screaming could ever accomplish.

RevTJ will soon come to wish you a "denominational hello", I am sure. He described he and I as "old fogies" but we are both young in spirit.

Actually, TJ is younger.....I was in grad school when he was in grade school

Or should I say.......Hats Off to you Peaceboy

Welcome to these forums- where you will find many who have dealt with the same battle you describe- so many of us have been there and now stand beside you- and I am so glad you are here. Peace back to you!

Daniel

Hi Peaceboy!

Glad you're here -- Soulforce is a safe environment to express views and values. I think we've all faced some struggles along the way - faithbased or otherwise. But here we can all find SUPPORT.

It's great to have you here.
