I was wondering if this gay youngster from Iran would have been granted asylum in the United States, if he'd apply here.

I read that article this morning, and wondered about the same thing. I doubt very much that he would have overcome the "double jeopardy" in the States - being Muslim and gay. Of course, they may have send him straight to hell, without passing Iran and collecting the 200 mullahs.
