Arrow Bonhoeffer

(icon by Lewis Williams )

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was hanged on April 9 shortly before allies liberated his interment camp. He is someone who struggled with the meaning of nonviolence in the midst of Nazi rule.

He represents for me the struggle of what and when and how nonviolence is applied. The tension of these questions is reflected in a lot of threads on this site, so I share this on Good Friday with my Soulforce cadres.

Default Yes, Tj, A Very Good Example

.....and the Church as a whole has many representations of priests and pastors, and yes, a Polish National Catholic bishop, who died in the camps prior to the end of the war.

...... many received their martyrdom after years of incarceration at a point where they were able to save the life of another in following His words and example of no greater love.....

----- prior to their deaths, an act of nonviolence and an act of faith - they took a verbal switch and admonished those who embodied evil and hatred.

Maybe we can tell more of their stories, and after you, dear brother in Christ..... I can almost here the story of a famous Lutheran pastor with that very famous quote......
