Congratulations you guys! I am so happy for you! Getting married in Canada almost 4 years ago (Sept. 11 2004) was momentous and wonderful, but I would do just about anything to get married here in the states. Alas, until the tidal wave of marriage equality reaches Texas, that won't happen, and I sit here wondering if we did go to California to get married, it still wouldn't be recognized here in Texas or with the federal government.

Still, I think the more gay couples who get married will show the world that we are here, we want and deserve equal rights in all aspects and plus, it helps the economy!!! Go California, bring it on in Texas! ( we copy every other standard California has, why not marriage equality?)

Adding my voice to the congratulations for Mel and Gary, Paige and Katy, and Jeff and Gary!! Many blessings upon your marriages!

My beloved, who was born & raised in Los Angeles, got a call yesterday from his mother's best friend Pam, who informed him she was standing in his mom's back yard, planning out our wedding. Since we haven't yet talked with our families about our intention to marry, it was a surprise! She told him "Well, it just makes sense that you two would get married."

There goes our hopes for a quiet, private ceremony later this year at the clerk's office!

Funny, but just knowing that so many gay couples were getting married in CA yesterday made me hold my head a little higher all day. Congrats to all the newlyweds!!!!!!

My daughter was watching Jon Stewart last night and he was doing a piece on gay marriage in California and he said, "Gay marriages happening all over California....And California is still a part of the United States....BUT FOR HOW LONG??????? And it's odd that God is punishing the Midwest for this...."

I about died laughing. My daughter is a big supporter of gay marriage and she brought me out of my room and a good book to show me this scene. I thought it was great!
