An article from the Advocate talks about the significance of national participation in the historic fight in California for marriage equality.
“This is a national battle, no question. The national implications are enormous, because if we can [beat the initiative] in November, it will have an impact throughout the country. - Geoff Kors, Executive Director of Equality California "Right now we are all Californians.” - Tom Lang, cofounder of Know Thy Neighbor Here's the article: http://www.advocate.com/issue_story_ektid55278.asp To donate go here: http://www.equalityforall.com/ Rick |

My best friend of oveer 25 years lives in Sebastopol and I am keeping an eye on the situation through her. She said a lot of other states are now lobbying there to get them to overtrurn it.

Tymejumper,
I believe 10 states hopped onto Protectmarriage.com's attempt to get the Supreme Court to stay their decision. HOwever, the stay was not granted. So beginning June 16th at 5pm, same sex marriages will be performed in CA. There have been clerks in 3 counties stating while they will process the applications for a marriage license for same sex couples, they refuse to marry them. I am wondering what the implications will be for their jobs. Next up in CA - getting the word out to say NO to the anti-gay initiative come November. Getting this defeated is our priority!!
