Hello Everyone
My online name is HiHopes. I am a parent of a gay child and a sister to a lesbian. I never have had any issues with their orientation but recently, after answering the call of Christ; I have taken active issue with the way Churches are. I have recently left a church where I liked a lot of things but could not accept their views regarding homosexuals. I promised Christ to help in any way I could to fix this. .......So among other activities; here I am.

Hello HiHopes. Welcome to this site. I am a recent member myself. Make sure you take time to read the resources section and check out some of the older posts. There are a lot of different people on these boards - all sharing the view that we as human beings need to treat each other with love and respect. You can read more about me in this section under "Hi, I'm Angel". It is good to know that there are supportive family members out there. I have not come out to my family yet, but the more I read here, the more encouraged I become. One of these days....

Welcome HiHopes,
I am at present dealing with one of those churches you speak of which is stuck with the old prejudice that a person can't be gay and Christian. (The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod). It is a church body that is generally very forgiving and focused on the grace of God. But the anti-gay discrimination still in force. I see more and more people challenging that old prejudice.
